I got the initial idea for these tile panels from something my mother said when my father died:

"Without death there would be no new life, and you and your children would not be here on this earth."

In times of distress many of us find solace in contemplating nature, and I hope that these images will provide a backdrop of comfort for people waiting to see the deceased. The images are meant to represent the different stages of life: from seed to seedling to flowering and fruiting, which will lead to further seed and therefore a constant renewal of life.
